Can I replace the video card in my inspiron 1520?

I currently have Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family.

Is it possible to switch to some sort of NVIDIA card?|||You cannot replace the video hardware on 99% of laptops- it's built-in to the motherboard and permanent for the lifetime of the unit, not a card you can just replace like on desktops.

There are external video adapters you might look into, but they are new and hard to find (the Asus XG staton was reviewed last year and STILL hasn't made it to stores). They are also pricey.|||Not really, see laptops weren't designed for gaming so the GPU you have right now is integrated.|||This is a mobile Intel chipset? So its in a laptop correct? Can't add a video card to a laptop.

If I'm wrong and its a desktop you will have to check to see which kind of expansion slots you have available, PCI, AGP, PCI-E.

After that you buy a card for there respective slot then disable the onboard video (express chipset). and install the drivers for the new video card.|||http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy…

that is the link to the guide that shows you how but I really don't see what the point is.|||Inspirons are laptops, and consumer-grade ones at that. The only laptops that take graphics upgrade modules are high-end gaming machines, unfortunately. Youll have to suffer with Intel GMA or purchase a new laptop.Your choice, and if you replace, look for a dedicated solution.|||No, it would be cheaper to just buy a new lap top. The card is built into the mother board and it would have to be replaced by a computer service center and would be expensive.
