Why does my moniter quit working when i hook up my video card?

every time i put my video card in to my computer i hook my monitor to it and nothing happens just my monitor light blinks i hook my monitor up to my original plugin nothing happens i have to take my card out to have the monitor is there any way to fix it



my card is a 64MB DDR Volair V3 XT GPU|||Install the software/drivers for that card BEFORE you plug it in. It will over ride the integrated graphics.|||You need to reduce the resolution or refresh rate, it seems that when you are using the graphics card you have set it up in a range that the monitor doesn't support.
