What determines a game speed? Is it the computer RAM or the Video Card's RAM?

Which is faster, a PC with 4 Gig RAM and 64 Mb Video Card or a PC with 256 Mb Video Card with a 896 RAM?|||It depends on the game, check game requirements at systemrequirementslab.com

Ex/ I had 1gb ram and a old 256mb intel video card - NFS most wanted lagged a lot with those specs, then later I upgraded my Video card to a Nvidia 512mb, NFS Most wanted worked perfect without a single lag.

As I said it depends on the game|||neither are very good but if i had to choose one for games i would say the second one|||The one with 4 gb.|||There's no way to answer given that information. For one thing, video RAM has basically no affect on speed. In fact, a computer with less video RAM will typically be faster than a computer with more (though it will produce a lower quality image).|||they are all linked to each other.

even the CPU needs to be of higher end to match with the high end Graphic card and the RAM. HDD RPM also is a good parameter to consider. as games running in a 5400 RPM HDD will load slow than a 10000RPM HDD.

cheers|||I found this site that had a bunch of info on video cards like side by side comparable stats and which ones were the best for the money and brand. I think itll help you out, just click on the third link down.
